Hi
« on: July 12, 2010, 06:25:19 PM »

I'm new to this forum but not to Chris Irwin. I am about to move to Oregon and leave my Arabian behind. What makes me so nervous is finding a person or situation that can keep him going in the manner that he and I have evolved to. We have done a few Chris Irwin clinics and they changed my whole view on riding and horses. What would you do if you were in this situation? What would you do with your horse?

Hi there,
I grew up in Switzerland and moved to Canada 13 years ago. I had a then 9-year-old Arabian gelding. After a one-month quarantine, we trailered to Frankfurt, Germany (seven hours), stayed in the quarantine stable overnight, then flew together in a cargo plane to Montreal, then 30 hours in the trailer to Nova Scotia. After a few weeks on Cape Breton Island, I hired a guy to haul him to Edmonton, Alberta, a 3.5 day trip. We now live in B.C. This horse has travelled more than a lot of people. He is now 22 and I have never once regretted the decision to spend all that money and move him wherever I went. It wasn't cheap, but I just couldn't leave him behind. Hope you can find a solution that works for you.

Hi, escarman ... Where are you moving from?  Maybe we can help you leave your horse in good hands, if you absolutely cannot take him with you.
