For individuals looking to improve their relationship and address specific issues – groundwork or riding – with their own horse, Chris is adding a number of 2-day and Weekend Horsemanship Clinics to his 2008 calendar to some locations and provinces (see “Events” for this year’s clinics). These clinics are also excellent for trainers-in-training looking to improve their skill levels by either bringing their own horse or, if available, leasing a horse they are unfamiliar with from the host clinic facility. To focus on just one horse for two days of work can produce dramatic results, and allows those keen on gaining this level of competency to really hone their diagnostics and technique, both on the ground and in the tack.
Chris is limiting the number of attendees to 9 and welcomes all disciplines, English or western, and all breeds, ages, gender and temperament of horse for assistance in groundwork, equitation or both.
Clinic hours are 9 am to approximately 6 pm daily. Participants will be placed with appropriate students in groups of two or three and will work with Chris in a 2 to 2 ½ hour session each day on the goals outlined for both them and their horse. In addition to their own session, Chris highly recommends that all participants watch the other sessions throughout the day as the value of observation cannot be overstated. There will be a lunch break mid-day.
Silver and Gold level coaches are also welcome to participate as assistant trainers in these clinics, under Chris’ tutelage. They will work all day both days, and will be assigned specific participants by Chris to coach at Chris’ discretion.
Participants are asked to come prepared with the following: lunge line, lunge whip, dressage whip or crop, D-ring or full-cheek snaffle bit (rather than loose-ring), full tack, protective boots if you use them, surcingle and driving reins if you would like to long-line, and your own riding helmet and gloves. Please mark your equipment in such a way you can distinguish it from others.

Horsemanship Clinic Registration Form
The fee or the 2-day horsemanship clinic is $550. To secure your space, a deposit of $200 is accepted via Visa, MC or personal cheque. Please be aware these clinics book in quickly, and spaces are confirmed on a first-come, first-serve basis on deposits received. For deposit by credit card, please include your Visa or MC number and expiry date on the bottom of the registration form where space is provided. Anne will promptly process these credit card deposits and email you a receipt of deposit confirming your space in the clinic. Should you prefer to pay your deposit with a personal cheque, please make it out to Horsepower Productions and mail to:
P.O. Box 1619, Whitecourt, Alberta T7S 1P4 Canada.
Simply emailing a request to attend a clinic does not automatically include you on the roster. Your space cannot be confirmed until Anne has received your credit card for deposit, or your deposit cheque is received at the Horsepower office. At that time you will receive a written email as receipt of your deposit confirming your space. If the clinic has already filled by the time you give an your credit card information, or Horsepower receives your cheque, Anne will call you and let you know you are on the wait list.
Confirmed participants are to set up their stabling arrangements for their horse separately and directly with the host facility. The host facility has their own stabling fees and requirements for vaccinations, arrangements, etc. Please contact the name and phone for facility stabling found on the event on Chris’ website.
Cancellation Policy
Should you cancel a confirmed space in a clinic, your deposit, less 10% handling fee, will only be refunded if a replacement is found. Or you may choose to transfer this deposit to a future event, without the handling fee, but again, only if a replacement is found for the space you are releasing.
